The Battle Of Campbell’s Station Happened 146 Years Ago

Local Park Place Residence Honor The Battle….

Leslie and I didn’t know when we bought out home in Park Place that it was the site of the historic civil war battle “The Battle Of Campbell Station”.

In honor of the battle taking place 146 years ago “Colonel” Richard Zachary and his “Southern Belle” Ms. Pamela Zachary decided to have a neighborhood get together. We had a great turn out and fun was had by everyone who attended the gathering.

Eddie and Linda Ford where also in attendance. I really enjoyed talking with both of them. Linda has a vast knowledge of the history of our area during the civil war. It was interesting to hear from her just how much history our area has dating back to the civil war.

We also found out about some exciting news that night. Many people have been wondering what all the construction is that is going on next to The Town Of Farragut. Linda shared with us that it was going to be a park dedicated to Admiral David Farragut in May 2010. This is very exciting news for the Town of Farragut.

As the evening was winding down and the bonfire was keeping us warm.

“Colonel” Richard Zachary began to share stories with us about his Great Great Great Great Grandfather who had fought in the Battle Of Campbell Station. Now if any of it was true who knows. Fun was had by all and we are talking about making it a annual event
