4 Spots at World’s Fair Park

Sunsphere

Sunsphere stands 266 feet and opens daily from 9 am to 6 pm. Offering an excellent 360-degree city view is a chance too memorable to miss. 

This tower is one of the surviving World’s Fair relics from 1982, featuring images and details about the site’s historic event. The observation deck provides a nice view of the World’s Fair Park, the Tennessee River, the downtown area, and the Smoky Mountains. Sunsphere is open to the public and is free of charge.

Tennessee Amphitheater

The Tennessee Amphitheater is an open-air venue built for World’s Fair in 1982. It boasts tensile architecture constructed and designed by Horst Berger, a structural engineer. The Amphitheater’s notable structure has hosted various concerts and can seat 1400 people. It’s a great place to see a show!

Festival Lawn

You can enjoy concerts at the two-acre Festival Lawn. This spot is an open area designed to accommodate a large crowd for any event this site holds. It is centrally located and accessible from any World’s Fair Park location. 

Splash Pads

On top of the two outdoor pools, Splash Pads are another way to have a fun water experience. It is an interactive water area featuring play fountains and great entertainment for children and adults. 

It’s open seasonally, depending on weather conditions, usually from mid-April to October. Children should have adult supervision at all times for safety reasons. 

The ten-acre World’s Fair Park has three major divisions — a performance lawn, a festival lawn, and a lake area. It offers many fun activities, and the incredible landscape makes it a great place to walk around or go biking.
